Abbotsford Kids Sad After 8-Month-Old Pet Snake Stolen In Home Robbery

Darpan News Desk, 23 Aug, 2019 07:07 PM

The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating the unusual theft of “Maize”, an orange 8-month-old female corn snake.

Maize’s family went away for a few days, and when another family member came to check on their pets, they found that the home had been broken into. Maize and her 20-gallon tank had been stolen.

Owners, Kristie Johnson and Chris Rhodes note, “Maize was not just a family pet; she was the first pet that we brought into our new family. We all miss her so desperately. The children, ages 6 and 8, were heartbroken when they found she was gone. Maize is just a baby, and she has very special dietary and care needs. Those who do not know how to help her may wind up hurting her.”

Anyone with information about this incident or whereabouts of Maize, is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225, text the department at 22973 (abbypd) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
