Abbotsford Police Take Man Into Custody After Shooting In Residential Neighbourhood

    A male is in custody this morning in relation to a shooting incident occurring last night on Flagman Place.
     
     
    Abbotsford Police Department Patrol officers attended the 2900 block of Flagman Place at approximately 7:30 pm last night in response to numerous calls reporting shots fired.
     
     
    As officers were on route, a male contacted the APD to report that when he arrived at a residence on Flagman Place, an individual exited the residence and allegedly fired a gun at his vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled and called the police. Fortunately, no one was injured.
     
     
    Abbotsford Police Patrol, Emergency Response Team and Crime Reduction Unit officers responded to assist in this investigation. A 43 year old man is in police custody facingfirearms related charges.
     
     
    Abbotsford Police Major Crime Detectives continue to investigate this incident this morning. At this time, it does not appear that this incident is associated to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict.
     
     
    The Abbotsford Police Department Major Crime Unit Detectives and the Forensics Identification Unit are canvassing for video and additional witnesses.
