Accused Toronto Bomb Plotter, Jahanzeb Malik, Ordered Held Again; ID Of Undercover Cop Secret

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 14 Apr, 2015 11:49 AM
TORONTO — A Pakistani man accused of planning terrorism in Canada will have to stay in custody pending a deportation hearing.

Jahanzeb Malik is scheduled to appear again before the Immigration and Refugee Board next month.

The decision today came after the board decided the identity of an undercover agent in the case can be kept secret after all.

The board had earlier ruled against the secrecy.

RCMP accuse Malik of plotting to blow up the U.S. consulate and other buildings in Toronto's financial district.

Ottawa is promising to hold an admissibility hearing for him as soon as possible.
