Alberta Man Swept Away In British Columbia's Kitimat River Found Dead

    KITIMAT, B.C. — A 39-year-old Alberta man swept away in the Kitimat River on Saturday has been found dead.
     
     
    Kitimat RCMP, Kitimat Search and Rescue and Terrace Swift Water Rescue located the body just after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
     
     
    The British Columbia Coroners Service is investigating the man's death.
     
     
    The unidentified man is believed to have been thrown from an inflatable boat that capsized near a logjam.
     
     
    A search helicopter joined search and rescue teams, police and area fire departments for the days-long search.
     
     
    RCMP are advising boaters to wear life-jackets whenever they are on the river.
