Alberta RCMP say natural gas pipeline intentionally shot with high-powered rifle

    HINTON, Alta. — RCMP in Alberta say they are looking for a person who intentionally shot a natural gas pipeline.

    Mounties say the pipeline owned by Talisman Energy was hit using a high-powered rifle.

    They say the crime happened sometime over the weekend about 60 kilometres north of Hinton.

    Police say a large quantity of natural gas was released before safety devices stopped the leak.

    RCMP are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
