Alcohol A Factor In Mercedes-Porsche Crash That Killed One, Critically Injured One In Richmond: RCMP

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 06 Jul, 2015 11:25 AM
RICHMOND, B.C. — Richmond RCMP believe alcohol played a role in a deadly weekend crash that has left one person dead and another in critical condition.

The Mounties say a Mercedes-Benz sedan rear-ended a Porsche (on Grant McConachie Way near Aviation Avenue) in Richmond, B.C.

The collision sent the car careening off road before it went airborne and slammed into a tree shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday.

The Porsche's driver, a 50-year-old man from Delta, B.C., was taken to hospital in critical condition.

His passenger, a 42-year-old woman visiting from Costa Rica, died in the crash.

The Mercedes-Benz driver was a 24-year-old man from Vancouver who police say suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover.
