Alleged Unlicensed Female 'Doctor' Who Gave Botox Injections Shut Down In B.C.

  • Alleged Unlicensed Female 'Doctor' Who Gave Botox Injections Shut Down In B.C.
VANCOUVER — A woman who allegedly misrepresented herself as a doctor and performed Botox injections has had her office shut down by the group that governs physicians in British Columbia.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons says an investigation revealed the woman was using titles including doctor and physician, and administering Botox or similar products, despite being unlicensed.

The college says a court injunction has been granted to stop the woman from using medical titles and from providing services she was not licensed to perform.

B.C. Supreme Court granted an order allowing the college to enter the woman's business, and boxes and vials of medication, syringes, needles and documents were seized on Thursday.

Few details are being released because the court file is sealed, but the college says it will request that the sealing order be lifted at its next court appearance.

The court allowed the college to disclose patient information to the appropriate health authority so people who were treated by the woman can be notified.
