American Man Ordered Extradited From B.C. Over Alleged $11M Investment Fraud

The Canadian Press, 15 Dec, 2014 04:41 PM
VANCOUVER — An American man who was indicted as part of an alleged investment fraud worth $11 million has been ordered extradited from B.C.

Sean Finn of Whitefish, Mont., was charged in December of last year along with five other people in the United States and Switzerland.

A B.C. Supreme Court judge says the evidence against Finn would support a conviction, so he'll be surrendered for extradition in 30 days unless he files an appeal.

A news release issued at the time by the U.S. Department of Justice says the charges relate to a Swiss corporation named Malom Group AG.

The release said the company took $11 million from investors, who were promised high rates of return that did not materialize.

The company's name, Malom, is an acronym for "make a lot of money."
