Arson at Guildford apartment building

Darpan News Desk Surrey RCMP, 09 Feb, 2022 04:51 PM
  • Arson at Guildford apartment building

Surrey RCMP is investigating an arson at an apartment building in the Guildford area and requesting anyone with information contact police.

On February 8, 2022, at 3:06 a.m., Surrey Fire Service notified Surrey RCMP that they were responding to the report of a fire at an apartment building located the 10600-block of 150 Street.

Upon attendance, Surrey Fire Service quickly extinguished a fire located in the hallway of the building. There was evidence of a second fire outside the building, which was extinguished prior to police/fire attendance. Thankfully no injuries were reported, however it appears these fires were intentionally lit.

“Thankfully the fire was quickly extinguished and did not result in any injuries to residents inside the apartment building,” says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Vanessa Munn. “We want to encourage residents in the area to be vigilant and report all suspicious activity.”

Surrey RCMP General Investigations Unit has conduct of the investigation and are working with the Surrey RCMP Arson Coordinator and the Surrey Fire Service to advance the investigation.

Investigators are in the process of reviewing CCTV from the area, and are releasing a description of two suspects. Suspect one was wearing a white baseball hat, white shirt, black puffy jacket, blue jeans and white high top runners. Suspect two was wearing a dark hoody with a white shirt underneath, black pants, black Nike runners with a white swoosh.
