Attention passengers: police board plane, charge man with stealing megaphone

    SASKATOON — A passenger on a WestJet flight to Saskatoon says police boarded the plane looking for someone who had snatched the aircraft's megaphone.

    Mike Van Dijk (DIKE) says the pilot of the flight from Toronto first announced Monday night that something had disappeared from the plane.

    He says officers then told everyone that all carry-on bags would be searched unless the thief came forward.

    He says an embarrassed man at the back of the plane turned over his bag and the missing megaphone.

    Police said the item had been snatched from the plane's kitchen.

    A 29-year-old man from Saskatoon was to appear in court on Tuesday on charges of theft and mischief.
