Baby Found Dead In Home, Mother's Body Found In River, Police Say Deaths Linked

The Canadian Press, 14 Apr, 2016 01:08 PM
MONTREAL — The bodies of a mother and her baby boy were found in separate locations on Wednesday morning north of Montreal.

Police said the boy's father called emergency services after finding the child in cardiac arrest at a home in Laval, Que.

Emergency workers tried to resuscitate the boy, who was less than a month old, but failed.

The body of the child's mother, who police said was 35-40 years old, was found in the Mille-Iles River, north of Laval, about an hour earlier.

Police said autopsies will be conducted on the child and the mother.

They add the father is co-operating with investigators.
