B.C. Driver Fails Roadside Breath Test After Trying To Park In RCMP Parking Lot

The Canadian Press, 22 Aug, 2018 01:18 PM
KAMLOOPS, B.C. — A driver who unsuccessfully tried to park his pickup truck at an RCMP detachment in British Columbia won't be parking — or driving — anywhere for the next 90 days.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodie Shelkie says the man from northern British Columbia  was approached by an officer shortly after midnight on Saturday after he noticed the driver having trouble parking his truck.

Shelkie says the detachment parking lot has signs stating it is closed to the public so the officer asked the man why his truck was in it.

A roadside breath test was administered when the officer noticed an odour of alcohol and Shelkie says the device indicated the driver could be impaired.

She says the unnamed man received an immediate roadside prohibition and his truck was impounded for three months. (CHNL)
