  • BC eases more restrictions as we enter Stage 3 of its restart plan, masks not required as of July 1

BC is lifting the requirement to wear a mask in public places on July 1. The province will be recommending people wear masks in public indoor spaces if they are partially vaccinated or not vaccinated. No recommendation to wear a mask for those who are fully vaccinated.

The provincial state of emergency in BC is ending on July 1. The state or emergency lasted more than 460 days.

Dr. Bonnie Henry says this is ‘a careful and gradual return. We are now ready your move on to the next step’.

Outdoor organized events can have up to 5,000 people in BC starting July 1 or 50% of capacity. This opens the door for a substantial PNE.

There is also this "return to normal for fairs, festivals and trade shows, with communicable disease plans." Which means the PNE needs a communicable disease plan, but could see way more than 5,000 people.

On July 1, there will be a reopening of casinos, with reduced capacity and ~50% of gaming stations permitted to open.

On July 1 there will be a reopening of nightclubs, with up to 10 people seated at tables, no socializing between tables and no dancing.

BC is returning to normal hours on July 1 for liquor service at restaurants, bars and pubs with table limits to be determined by venue and no socializing between tables.

Dr. Bonnie Henry - "We will be welcoming people from other provinces', preferably vaccinated people."

There will be no proof of vaccination required around masking recommendations. British Columbia will hit the 5 millionth COVID vaccine administered in the province tomorrow.
