B.C. Man Who Thought He'd Have Sex With Woman's Daughter Gets Big Surprise

The Canadian Press, 29 Sep, 2016 02:07 PM
BURNABY, B.C. — RCMP say a 56-year-old British Columbia man has been arrested and charged with child pornography offences after meeting a woman with the intention of sexually exploiting her daughter.

Ronald Gardner was charged with making child pornography and arranging or agreeing to commit a sexual offence against a child after an online investigation involving a female officer who posed as a single mother with two children.

The BC Integrated Child Exploitation Unit says Gardner, who has no fixed address, was also charged with failing to comply with an order involving previous child pornography-related charges.

Police say the first investigation began in February when an investigator accessed an online chat site on which a suspect allegedly described his wishes to engage in sexual acts with her fictitious children.

In March, officers specializing in dealing with sexual predators went to a restaurant where they arrested a suspect who'd discussed wanting to have sex with her daughter.

Police say Gardner was released on bail eight days later with a number of conditions restricting his access to children, computer devices and the Internet but that he was arrested again in April for accessing the Net.
