B.C. teacher charged with sexual exploitation of students

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 14 May, 2025 01:28 PM
  • B.C. teacher charged with sexual exploitation of students

Police in Saanich, B.C., say a 36-year-old teacher in the Greater Victoria School District is accused of engaging in sexual interactions with students.

They say Marnie Burnham, who also taught under the name Marnie Forin, faces three counts of sexual exploitation and two counts of telecommunicating to lure a child under 18.

Police say a criminal investigation was launched in early 2024 when a victim was identified.

They say additional victims were later identified, which led to a second investigation.

Police say the woman was arrested in February 2024 and is awaiting trial.

They say Burnham has been released on several conditions, including having no contact with her alleged victims, not to be on school property, and not to be in contact with anyone under the age of 18.
