Body Of Missing Calgary Boy, 11, Recovered In Yoho National Park

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Jul, 2016 11:36 AM
FIELD, B.C. — The search for an 11-year-old Calgary boy who fell into the Yoho River in southeastern British Columbia last Friday has ended.

Parks Canada says a search team recovered the body of the boy from the Kicking Horse River, downstream of the Yoho River, late Tuesday morning.

The boy was visiting Yoho National Park with his family who were on the river bank near Takkakaw Falls.

Two boys fell into the water shortly after 7:40 p.m. on Friday.

While people in the area were quick to react and pull out one of the boys, the other was swept downstream.

Parks Canada is not providing additional details about the incident but says it extends its sympathies to the boy's family.
