Boys, 16 And 17, Sought By Police In Manitoba Addiction Centre Attack

The Canadian Press, 30 May, 2016 12:05 PM
SELKIRK, Man. — Two Manitoba teenage boys are being sought by police after two female staff members were allegedly attacked and robbed at a long-term residential addictions treatment facility just north of Winnipeg.

Police say the attackers were armed when the employees suffered serious injuries in the alleged Sunday evening assault at the Behavioural Health Foundation in the Rural Municipality of St Andrews.

Both staffers were taken to hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Mounties also say a blue 2014 F-150 pickup truck with "Manitoba Jets" licence plate J25643 was stolen from the one of the workers.

One of the boys is a 16-year-old from Wasagamack while the second is a 17-year-old from Norway House, and both were staying at the facility.

The foundation's website says it provides programming for men, women, teens and family units experiencing a variety of addiction problems and co-occurring mental health concerns.
