Burnaby RCMP Drug Seizure Disrupts 'Dial-A-Dope' Operation

    A recent drug seizure by Burnaby RCMP’s Drug Section has resulted in disruption to a dial-a-dope drug trafficking operation in the City.

     

    On Sunday March 1, 2020, at 8:30 p.m., a Drug Section officer was conducting proactive patrols in the 6500-block of Burlington Avenue.


    The officer noted a suspicious occupied vehicle that was located in a business loading bay in the area. With businesses being closed, the officer approached the vehicle and observed drug paraphernalia in clear view.


    The three occupants of the vehicle were detained and a search on a male occupant in the vehicle produced 118 pre-packaged baggies of drugs including crack cocaine, powder cocaine and fentanyl.


    This quantity of drugs and the method of packaging is usually associated with a street level dial-a-dope drug trafficking operation.
