Canada Issues Recall For Delorean Flux Capacitor On 'Back To The Future' Day

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 22 Oct, 2015 11:42 AM
OTTAWA — The federal government got into the spirit of "Back to the Future" Day on Wednesday.

A recall posted on a government website warns that "on a certain DMC-12 car converted into a time machine, a defect in the flux capacitor could lead to inability to travel through time while travelling at 88 miles per hour (141.6 km/h) and may increase energy consumption beyond 1.21 gigawatts."

It cautions that this defect "could have disastrous consequences."

And it goes on to say that "Doc Brown will affect repairs."

In the movie "Back to the Future Part II," Oct. 21, 2015, is the date that the characters Marty McFly, Emmett "Doc" Brown and Jennifer Parker travelled to from 1985.

"Back to the Future" Day was being celebrated with an appearance by the original cast at a Lincoln Center screening in New York, as well as several fan-centric events and more than 1,700 theatres hosting screenings.
