  • Canada ranked as the number one country in the world by 2021 Best Countries Report

Canada truly is the best country in the world. It has earned the number one spot in the 2021 Best Countries Report put out by US News & World Report.

For the first time Canada has claimed the top spot in the annual ranking and is now in the number one spot after coming in at 2nd place in last year's report.

Canada left behind 78 other nations including Japan, Germany, Switzerland, and Australia were in top 5. The USA stands at number 6.

The criterion for the 2021 Best Countries Report were determined after collecting data of over 17,000 business- and college-educated people who are middle class or higher, and citizens that represent their country nationally.

The data looked at storytelling to explore how countries fared on several different global issues, such as corruption and racial equality.

According to the report, “Canada is perceived as having a good job market, caring about human rights, and is committed to social justice."

Canada also scored the highest marks for quality of life and social purpose and the third most business-friendly and transient.
