Premier David Eby says Canada will not become the 51st American state.

Eby says he's proud to be a Canadian and people in both countries recognize they are different places with different priorities, but are also good neighbours.

U-S president-elect Donald Trump has threatened to use what he calls "economic force" to make Canada the 51st state, while continuing to promise substantial tariffs.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has responded that there isn’t a "snowball’s chance in hell" that Canada would become part of the United States
