MIAMI — A Canadian man is scheduled to plead guilty in Miami today to charges he travelled to Florida to have sex with someone investigators say he believed was an underage boy.

A change of plea hearing is set for this afternoon for 47-year-old Rene Roberge of Sherbrooke, Quebec, who had previously pleaded not guilty.

Roberge's lawyer had said a plea deal was likely to end the case without a trial.

Authorities allege Roberge flew to Florida after making contact on the Internet with undercover investigators posing as a 14-year-old boy and his father to arrange a sexual encounter.

Agents also allege they found child pornography on Roberge's tablet computer.

In addition, Roberge is accused of planning to travel to San Antonio, Texas, to have sex with a teenage boy.
