Surrey RCMP is trying to locate the rightful owner of cash found in a box of donated clothing.

On September 10, 2021, a substantial amount of cash was found in a box of clothing that had been donated to a thrift store located in the 10600 block of King George Boulevard. The employee who located the cash suspected it was inadvertently donated, so they turned it into police.

The employee believed that the box of clothing was likely donated between July 1, 2021 and July 15, 2021.

If you can positively identify the amount of cash, denominations and what the money was stored in, please contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.

On October 16 just before 3 p.m., cleaning staff at the safe injection site near Pender and Abbott streets found what are now known as two replica pipe bombs inside the toilets. Staff believed they were imitation bombs and turned them over to police. VPD’s Emergency Response Team Bomb Technician attended and safely destroyed the device.

Police seized 151 oxycodone pills, 51 morphine pill, and 21 grams of cocaine, which was packaged for street level sale. In addition to the illegal drugs, officers seized $4685 in cash along with the vehicle being used to facilitate the offences.
