Celebration of Light kicks off tomorrow

The Celebration of Light returns to Vancouver this weekend.

The fireworks competition gets underway tomorrow with road closures expected as a result in the West End and neighbouring Kits Point.

Tomorrow night's competition will see fireworks displays from a team from Australia.

It's almost here! This Saturday Team Australia will be taking to the night sky to kick off the 2023 Celebration of Light.

The annual fireworks event kicks off Saturday, and continues on July 26 with a display from a team from Mexico, and July 29 with a team from the Philippines

Sergeant Steve Addison says one person was arrested at the scene, but investigators have yet to determine if there are more suspects. He says the shooting occurred Saturday evening inside a building near East Hastings Street and Princess Avenue.
