Charge Dropped Against Raptors Fan Who Made Vulgar Comment About Ayesha Curry

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 15 Nov, 2019 10:46 PM

TORONTO - A Toronto Raptors fan who made a vulgar comment on live television about Ayesha Curry, wife of NBA star Stephen Curry, has had his charge withdrawn.

Tristan Warkentin agreed in a Toronto court to a common law bond not to associate with Ayesha Curry or the CP24 reporter to whom he made the comments.

Warkentin also received counselling for sexual harassment, and his lawyer said he is sorry for the remarks.

He was initially charged with mischief by interfering with the lawful operation of property after using profane language in a live TV interview with a reporter on June 2.

The comments came after the Raptors lost Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

Ayesha Curry is an actress, celebrity cook, author and television personality who grew up in Markham, Ont.
