Child Porn Charges For Dawson Creek, B.C., Man After Abbotsford Police Probe

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 28 Nov, 2016 11:30 AM
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — A Dawson Creek, B.C., man has been charged with child pornography offences following an investigation that spanned the province.

A news release from Abbotsford police says the major-crime unit in the Fraser Valley city was alerted in August that images of child sexual abuse were being uploaded by an area resident.

A short time later, police say the suspect moved to Dawson Creek, but the investigation continued with the help of RCMP in northeastern B.C.

A search warrant was executed at a Dawson Creek home last month and Abbotsford police say images from a laptop computer and file storage device provided the evidence required to lay charges.

Forty-one-year-old Jason Reedel is accused of possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.

He appeared in a Dawson Creek courtroom last week and is ordered to appear in provincial court in Abbotsford on Dec. 19.
