Chris Hyndman's Obit Recalls His Charisma, Wit, Smile

The Canadian Press, 11 Aug, 2015 12:38 PM
TORONTO — An obituary honouring the charisma, wit and smile of TV personality Chris Hyndman is drawing hundreds of comments from fans online.

The tribute was published in several newspapers and on the website of the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel in Toronto.

By mid-afternoon Tuesday, the funeral home's online guest book had logged nearly 800 entries.

The CBC reported the "Steven and Chris" star was found dead last week in an alleyway outside the Toronto residence he shared with husband Steven Sabados. Hyndman was 49.

His cause of death has not been revealed, but police said there was no criminal investigation.

The obituary celebrated Hyndman as "our blazing comet, our Fire Horse" and says a public celebration of life will take place at a future date.

"Nothing gave him greater pleasure than knowing he had, in some way, shifted someone's life for the better, changed a rigid point of view, or showed a struggling teenager in some remote town somewhere in Canada, that being LGBTQ was cause for celebration and pride," it stated.

Donations are being accepted by The Red Door and The Tommy Sexton Shelter.
