CNN Reporting From Cape Breton As Trump-Inspired Spotlight Continues

    SYDNEY, N.S. — CNN has dispatched a crew to Cape Breton to find out what the island has to offer Americans considering leaving the United States if Donald Trump wins the presidency.
     
    The cable news channel is following up on reports that a local website encouraging U.S. citizens to move to Cape Breton has gone viral, attracting more than 300,000 hits in the past two weeks.
     
    Cape Breton tourism officials say CNN's reports will be broadcast Wednesday on CNN International's flagship global affairs program, hosted by Christiane Amanpour.
     
     
    Mary Tulle, CEO of Destination Cape Breton, says the CNN team talked to locals and a real estate agent in Sydney, and also travelled to rural Marion Bridge to have a look at a waterfront property.
     
    Sydney radio announcer Rob Calabrese, the creator of a cheeky website "Cape Breton if Donald Trump Wins," has said the site pokes fun at the bombastic Republican, but it also has plenty to say about the island's beauty and laid-back lifestyle.
     
    Calabrese says he's received hundreds of emails from Americans making serious inquiries about moving to Nova Scotia.
