Mounties say they're searching for a suspect after a cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Vancouver Island.
The Comox Valley R-C-M-P say a passerby found the injured male cyclist late last night near a road in Courtenay, and called 9-1-1, but the cyclist later died in hospital.
Police have not released the victim's name or age.
They say he was riding a red and white bike specialized bike, and investigators want to hear from anyone who may have seen him on the road.
RCMP have posted on social media that they are on the scene of a very serious collision near the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 5. The STARS air ambulance service says it has been dispatched to the scene.
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation says housing starts in Vancouver tumbled 45 per cent in May.
