Dawson Lacroix, Toddler Reported Missing In Southern Quebec Found Dead After Intensive Search

    WATERLOO, Que. — A two-year-old child who went missing Friday evening in the town of Waterloo in southern Quebec was found dead later that night.
     
    The parents lost sight of the child around 6 p.m. Provincial police say he was found almost five hours later in a water-filled ditch.
     
    The disappearance prompted a large search operation involving provincial police and local citizen volunteers.
     
    A helicopter and canine unit were also deployed to help locate the boy.
     
    There will be an inquest to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
