Moments of silence are being held today to mark the national day of mourning for people who have died, been injured or suffered illness on the job.
Nova Scotia N-D-P Leader Claudia Chender noted there were 24 workplace deaths in the province last year -- more than the year before.
She says the day of mourning reminds political leaders that workers are counting on them to ensure safe workplaces.
The first Vancouver incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the Marine Gateway Liquor Store, near Southwest Marine Drive and Cambie Street.
