Dead Child Found In Car Trunk In Surrey; Mother Arrested By Police

The Canadian Press, 11 Dec, 2014 10:58 AM
SURREY, B.C. — Homicide investigators in Surrey, B.C., say they have arrested a woman believed to be the mother of a child who was found dead in a vehicle.

Mounties discovered the body just after noon Wednesday, when they were called to an affluent area of south Surrey, just a short drive from popular Crescent Beach.

Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team now says a woman believed to be the child’s mother has been arrested.

She says the cause of death is not known and will be confirmed in an autopsy.

Pound says police are now trying to find the family and deliver the tragic news.

She also says police will be investigating where the car came from and how long the body was at the scene. (CKWX)
