The New Westminster Police Department has issued a pickpocketing warning after a woman had her debit card stolen and lost over two-thousand dollars.
Police say the victim’s card was stolen and then the card was used for 25 hundred dollars in purchases and withdrawals.
The investigation is still ongoing as police are warning the public to keep their valuable items close to them.
Andrew Leaver with the New Westminster Police Department says distraction tactics are common among thieves with some pretending to be helpful and offering assistance to help people with bags.
