Detectives Appeal For Assistance In Fatal Shooting Of Chilliwack, B.C., Man

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 11 Mar, 2019 08:45 PM

CHILLIWACK, B.C. — Police detectives have identified a man who was shot and killed in Chilliwack, B.C., on the weekend.

A news release from the homicide investigation team says 33-year-old James Vidal was attacked in central Chilliwack about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The Chilliwack resident died at the scene.

Police say Vidal was known to them and his slaying is not considered random.

Officers are interviewing several witnesses, and Cpl. Frank Jang says physical evidence has been collected from where Vidal was shot.

Jang says the homicide team is asking the public for any details that could help track the killer.

"We are fortunate that no one else was hurt as a result of this careless act," Jang says in the news release.
