Dial-A-Dope Drug Trafficking Investigation: Surrey Police Arrest 8 People, 4 More Wanted

27 May, 2016 12:52 PM
Drug unit In Surrey yesterday arrested eight suspects and are looking for four more in connection with an investigation into dial-a-dope drug trafficking in Surrey and Richmond.

Those who were arrested on trafficking warrants are Ravinder Samra, 29, Hazim Hazim, 20, Tony Tran, 30, and Peter Butcher, 52.

"Today's arrests are part of a larger strategy to decrease the violence in our city caused by the dangerous activities of drug traffickers plying their illegal trade on our streets," Inspector Shawna Baher said Wednesday.

"The Surrey RCMP continues to advance investigations on a number of individuals that pose the most significant risk to public safety," Baher added. "We are also involved in a number of prevention efforts to address the root causes of the violence seen in Surrey."

Cops are also looking for four more suspects — two men and two women — in  connection with this investigation into drug trafficking: Richmond resident Priya Sandhu, 23, and Surrey residents Layla Low, 22, James Griffiths, 43, and Abdulhamid Sultan, 20.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
