Driver charged with impaired driving causing death

Surrey R-C-M-P say a driver has been charged with impaired driving causing death after a pedestrian was struck and killed while at a bus stop over the weekend.
Investigators say on Saturday afternoon a truck crossed into oncoming traffic and then collided with a bus stop bench injuring two pedestrians and causing damage to the surrounding property.
Police say one male pedestrian was declared dead at the scene and a second was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
A 44-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and impaired driving causing death.
Police in Port Moody say they’ve seized hundreds of pieces of identification, stolen mail, stolen licence plates and devices used to make fake I-Ds. It started back in July when police were called to a report of a mail theft, and officers pulled over a stolen vehicle linked to the theft about a month later.
A free and confidential legal service is now being offered to people who have been sexually assaulted in British Columbia.
