Driver charged with impaired driving causing death

Surrey R-C-M-P say a driver has been charged with impaired driving causing death after a pedestrian was struck and killed while at a bus stop over the weekend.
Investigators say on Saturday afternoon a truck crossed into oncoming traffic and then collided with a bus stop bench injuring two pedestrians and causing damage to the surrounding property.
Police say one male pedestrian was declared dead at the scene and a second was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
A 44-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and impaired driving causing death.
Mounties say two Alberta hikers have been found dead at the bottom of a ridge at Mount Coulthard, a summit in the Rocky Mountains. RCMP were informed Wednesday night that the two hikers who were making their way along the North York Creek Plane Crash Trail, outside Coleman, Alta., had not returned when planned.
