Darpan News Desk , 30 Nov, 2016 12:53 PM
On November 29, 2016 at approximately at 1410 hrs Delta Police responded to a single vehicle crash in the 10500 blk of Nordel Way.

On arrival, police observed a vehicle off road right that  had collided with the base portion of an overhead sign. The impact resulted in breaching of the overhead sign and it coming down across the roadway.

Sadly, the driver (the lone occupant of the vehicle) died at the scene. Police are making efforts to confirm the driver’s identity and conduct the NOK.

Police are continuing with their investigation. The westbound lanes on Nordel Way are currently shut down and traffic is being re-routed at 84th Avenue. Although there are two lanes eastbound getting through there is significant congestion and police recommend motorists avoid the area.

The road closure will be in place for several hours while crews work to remove the overhead sign structure and investigators conduct the scene examination and investigation.
