Early morning shots fired at Surrey, B.C., home; motive unknown, police say

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 13 Apr, 2026 10:01 AM
  • Early morning shots fired at Surrey, B.C., home; motive unknown, police say

Police in Surrey, B.C., are investigating after the latest case of attackers firing shots at a home during the early morning hours.

Investigators say the shots were fired on Monday at around 2:50 a.m.

Police say the home was damaged but no one was hurt.

They say it's unclear if the shooting is linked to the wave of extortion-related violence.

There have been a number of overnight shootings in Surrey in recent months at homes and businesses, with many of the cases linked to extortions of those in the South Asian community.

Separate local and provincial task forces have been set up to focus on the problem, and police are asking anyone who knows something about the latest shooting to come forward.
