The Surrey Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have requested public for assistance in finding a missing elderly Indo-Canadian woman, a media report said.

Mohinder Sodhi was reported missing on September 4 from her residence in the 6600 block of 127 A Street, Surrey, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The 73-year-old Sodhi is 5'2" tall, average build, with white hair and dons a small bun.

She was wearing traditional Indian clothing, a green head scarf and had a cane with bright colours and butterflies on it when she was last seen.

The cane has a sticker with her identification and information on it.

Police and family are in deep concern as Sodhi has advanced stage dementia.
