The Canadian Press, 04 Jun, 2018 01:13 PM

PRESCOTT, Ont. — Emergency crews are responding to the scene of a collision in eastern Ontario involving multiple people.

The Ornge air ambulance service says it is responding to a multi-passenger vehicle in a ditch.

Spokesman Joshua McNamara did not say how many people are involved or if there are any fatalities.

He says one helicopter is on its way back to Ottawa with a patient but had no information on their condition. He says another air ambulance is on its way to Brockville, Ont.

McNamara says a helicopter from Toronto and a land ambulance from Ottawa are also headed to the scene.

Ontario Provincial Police say Highway 401 west of Prescott, Ont., has been closed due to a collision. They did not provide further details.
