Winter storm and snowfall warnings have been posted for some areas of B.C. and parts of the southern coast could also be in for some snow after weeks of springlike conditions. 

A special weather statement issued by Environment Canada says the Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, the Sunshine Coast and higher elevations of Metro Vancouver will get some snow into Monday night. 

The winter storm warning has been posted for B.C.’s North and South Peace River areas, with heavy and blowing snow. 

It says 15 to 25 cm of snow will accumulate in the area by midday on Tuesday and temperatures will drop with wind chills down to minus 40 through to Wednesday. 

A snowfall warning has been posted the Elk Valley and Yoho and Kootenay parks in B.C.’s southeast, where a low pressure system will bring up to 20 cm by Tuesday. 

A similar warning is in place for the Rossland area down to the Canada-U.S. border, including for drivers on Highway 3 in the same area, with 25 cm of snow landing by Tuesday.
