Executive With Quebec Pension Fund Manager Suspended After Child Porn Charges

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 20 Nov, 2015 11:54 AM
MONTREAL — A vice-president with Quebec's pension fund manager has been charged with possessing, distributing and accessing child pornography.

Robert Cote is a vice-president of legal affairs at the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec and has been suspended with pay.

He was released on bail Thursday by a judge following his arraignment.

According to court documents, the charges of distributing child pornography are related to incidents that allegedly occurred between last January and March.

The two other charges — accessing and possessing pornography — are in connection with events alleged to have occurred between 1997 and 2015.

Jean-Benoit Houde, a Caisse spokesman, says a lawyer for the 52-year-old Cote was advised of the suspension while it conducts an internal investigation.
