The Fraser Health Authority says it will start construction on a new long-term care home in the Metro Vancouver city of Delta in 2025.
The project, which is expected to be finished in 2027, will replace Mountain View Manor and its 92 beds.
The new facility is being designed as households that accommodate 12 or 13 residents each, with 200 beds in total.
Each home will also include social and recreational spaces.
The expansion from 28 to 48 seats, includes a dozen new spots in the bachelor of midwifery program and eight positions in the midwives bridging program, helping internationally educated midwives to become registered to practise in B.C.
