Free transit from Aug 6-Aug 31 in the Fraser Valley

BC Transit and its local government partners in the Fraser Valley are pleased to provide riders with free transit for handyDART customers from resumption of service on July 31 through to August 31.
Transit will also be free (excluding tickets and pass products) for riders on conventional transit from the resumption of service on August 6 through to August 31, 2023.
BC Transit and our local government partners want to thank everyone for their patience during the service disruption and look forward to welcoming customers onboard again for free in the month of August.
The investigation is in the early stages with the primary goal of identifying the suspect vehicle involved. Investigators are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage from anyone who may have been in the area of George Ferguson Way at Nelson Place just before & after the collision.
A 21-year-old man was trying to sell a used phone when an unknown buyer named Matthew asked to meet up around 7 p.m. in Champlain Heights on Saturday, September 24. When the victim arrived, he was met by two men who appeared to be in their late teens. They robbed him of his phone and hit the victim in the head with a weapon, then attacked him with bear spray.
The vehicle and driver involved in the collision had left the scene before police arrival; however, the driver has since come forward and is cooperating with investigators. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital however, despite medical intervention, succumbed to his injuries.
Vancouver Police are investigating the city’s eighth pedestrian fatality of the year, which occurred around 12:30 p.m. today on West Georgia Street. Police believe a woman was struck by a charter bus near West Georgia and Cardero Street.
New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut have declared Sept. 30 a statutory holiday. The other provinces and territories are choosing to observe the day in various ways, while some continue consultations with Indigenous groups and businesses about whether to make it a stat.
Weber spoke at a House of Commons committee meeting looking at the ArriveCan app, which has been used for providing travel and public health information before and after people enter Canada. The cabinet order mandating vaccine requirements and use of ArriveCan for incoming travellers expires at the end of Friday and the government says it will not be renewed.
