The Canadian Press, 18 Dec, 2014 10:56 AM
WHITE ROCK, B.C. — A Metro Vancouver community has gathered to say goodbye to an eight-year-old girl who was found dead in the trunk of a car.

Teagan Batstone's body was discovered in a vehicle in Surrey last week, and her mother has been charged with murder.

During a memorial service at a church in White Rock, family and friends tried to cope with the shocking news.

A video presentation showed images of Teagan as a happy child who loved playing dressup and telling stories.

The girl's Sunday school teacher described her as joyful and said she loved to talk about her brothers and pets.

Teagan's babysitter said through tears after the ceremony that the pair did everything together, including camping and getting their ears pierced. (News 1130, CKNW)
