  • Giving Hearts Gala Brings South Asian community together to build Lasting Care at Langley Memorial Hospital

Langley Community Health & Hospital Foundation will bring the community together for an evening of celebration, generosity and purpose at its seventh annual Giving Hearts Gala on Friday, April 10 at Mirage Banquet Hall.

Guests will enjoy a traditional South Asian banquet dinner, cultural elements inspired by Vaisakhi and live entertainment, with performers and emcee to be announced.

Taking place around Vaisakhi, a spring festival that celebrates renewal, gratitude and the importance of giving back, the gala reflects these values while continuing the Foundation’s call to support the Guru Nanak Dev Endowment Fund.

The Endowment Fund provides Langley’s medical teams the funding and support they need so they can respond to the needs of patients quickly.

As health care needs at Langley Memorial Hospital continue to rise, the Foundation is urging donors to help meet or surpass last year’s fundraising milestone of $331,000. “The Giving Hearts Gala captures the spirit of Vaisakhi while answering a very real and urgent need,” says Bob Sangha, member of the Giving Hearts Gala committee. “Vaisakhi is about generosity, service and coming together as a community. By growing this endowment, we are helping secure strong, compassionate care for our community today and for generations to come.”

Last year’s Giving Hearts Gala welcomed more than 250 guests to launch the Guru Nanak Dev Endowment Fund. This year, the Foundation is calling on the community to build upon that success with a goal of creating a $1 million endowment by 2030.

By continuing to grow the endowment, donors will strengthen a sustainable source of funding that allows Langley Memorial Hospital to respond quickly to urgent priorities and equipment needs.

Tickets for the April 10 Giving Hearts Gala are now on sale. Individual tickets are $250, and tables of eight are available for $2,000.
