Gurmant Grewal will not be allowed to seek BC nomination in 2015

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 06 Nov, 2014 05:03 PM

Former Conservative MP Gurmant Grewal will not be allowed to seek a BC nomination for the 2015 election, media reports suggest.

Grewal, who was once called the 'Iron Man' of the House of Commons by PM Stephen Harper, was on the path to win the nomination in Cloverdale-Langley City riding. The victory would have brought him back together in Parliament with his wife Nina Grewal, MP for Fleetwood-Port Kells.

Apparently, a letter from the party brass in Ottawa intimated Grewal that he cannot contest the nomination, but did not provide any reason.

Furthermore, Surrey businessman Paul Brar has also been asked to withdraw his nomination

Grewal was first elected as a Reform MP in Surrey in 1997.
