  • Harassment Case Against Edmonton Woman Extradited From Germany Put Over

EDMONTON — The case of an Edmonton woman who was extradited from Germany to face harassment and threats charges has been put over.

Hana Sakkat is to appear in provincial court April 8.

The 38-year-old was recently escorted home by Edmonton police after Interpol flagged her passport and she was arrested at the Frankfurt airport.

Police allege Sakkat stalked her dance teacher after he thwarted her romantic advances in 2013.

They also allege she made online threats — some that were anti-Semitic and violent — to members of the studio.

She faces charges of criminal harassment, uttering threats, fraud and breach of recognizance.

Police say the campaign continued after last May, when Sakkat left Canada and was in Dubai and the United Kingdom.

One of the alleged victims is Edmonton CTV news anchor Joel Gotlib.
