HEERAL PATEL MURDER: Warrant For 1st Degree Murder Issued Against Ex-Husband RAKESHBHAI PATEL

    Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have issued a warrant for 1st Degree Murder in the investigation of a deceased person that was located in Brampton.


    On Monday, January 13, 2020, at 5:49 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a naturalized green space in the area of Nexus Avenue and Fogal Road in the City of Brampton for a report that a deceased person had been located.


    Officers attended and confirmed that a person was deceased and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. It was determined that the death was suspicious and our Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau took carriage of the investigation.


    The deceased has been identified as Heeral Patel, a 28 year-old woman from Toronto.


    On January 16, 2020, a warrant was issued for 1st Degree Murder, for the arrest of Rakeshbhai Patel, a 36 year-old man from Toronto, who has been identified as the suspect in this incident. Investigators are encouraging him to contact a lawyer and arrange to turn himself in.


    Rakeshbhai Patel is believed to be travelling in a 2009 Honda Civic 4 door silver, Ontario licence plate CDMP042.
